Danny Bedwell has failed to provide voters with positions on key issues covered by the 2019 Political Courage Test, despite repeated requests from Vote Smart and voters like you.
Pro-life | Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
The Roe v Wade decision by our Supreme Court has no Constitutional basis. Roe V Wade should be overturned. |
No | Do you support United States' combat operations in Afghanistan?
No | Do you support a timetable for withdrawal from Afghanistan?
I would not publish a timeline for withdrawl that might be used to harm our troops, but I would pull our troops out of Afghanistan immediately. Afghanistan presents no danger to the these united States. |
Indicate which proposals you support (if any) for balancing the federal budget. In order to balance the budget,
Yes | do you support reducing defense spending?
No | do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?
Yes | do you support reducing Medicaid spending?
Yes | do you support reducing Medicare spending?
Yes | Is balancing the budget a legislative priority?
We need to repeal the income tax immediately. Excises, Imposts and Duties were the only methods of taxation authorized in our Constitution prior to the 16th Amendment. The Constitution limited taxaton to these methods for a reason, The reason is, they are the only moral and just methods of taxation. Imposts, Excises, and Duties are dependant on commerce, in one form or another, and as such, it allows an avenue for the person to opt out of payng them. The Income tax is different, The income tax is the Government saying " I have a gun, give me your money" |
No | Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
I think if you can pull a lever (vote), then you should be able to contribute as much money as you want. Hoever, if you can't pull a lever, then you cannot contribute a single cent. This system would allow Joe and Jane citizen to contribute as much as they want, but would prohibit contributions from Orgs, Unions, Corps and PACS. This would mean no money from Exxon, Microsoft, Walmart, the NEA, the NRA, MoveOn, Acorn, or the Fraternal Order of Bullfrogs. |
No | Do you support capital punishment for certain crimes?
I dont think the Government should be in the business of killing its citizens |
No | Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
No | Do you support providing tax incentives to businesses for the purpose of job creation?
No | Do you support spending on infrastructure projects for the purpose of job creation?
No | Do you support the temporary extension of unemployment benefits?
Yes | Do you support the 2010 temporary extension of tax relief?
Given the chance, I would repeal the Income Tax and the 16th amendment. But since the Income Tax is the law of the land at this time, I would promote the government giving the citizens their money back, and it doesn't matter in what form it comes. Whenever I hear that 50% of Americans pay ZERO in Income Taxes, I think to myself "good, ..we're half way there". |
No | Do you support requiring states to implement education reforms in order to be eligible for competitive federal grants?
I would repeal and defund the Federal Dept of Education, and I oppose all "federal grants" whether they're competitive or not. |
Yes | Do you support reducing restrictions on offshore energy production?
Not only would I reduce the restrictions, I would eliminate them completely. |
Yes | Do you believe that human activity is contributing to climate change?
No | Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
I believe that mankind might be contributing to climate change, and sometime within the next 5000 years, we're going to have to do something about it (maybe). But I do not support ANY of the Draconian suggestions by those in the Environmental lobby. |
No | Do you support restrictions on the purchase and possession of guns?
Like the rest of the Bill of Rights, the 2nd amendment is a basic human right. It is the right to self preservation. This is not something men (mankind) can prohibit, even if they wanted to. |
Yes | Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act?
No | Should individuals be required to purchase health insurance, as mandated in the 2010 Affordable Care Act?
I am in charge of my property (my money is my property). Other people, regardless of their numbers, and regardless of their imaginative titles, cannot tell me what I can, and cannot do with it. I'll decide what I spend my money on, and you decide what you sepnd yours on, deal? |
No | Do you support requiring illegal immigrants to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
Yes | Do you support allowing illegal immigrants, who were brought to the United States as minors, to pursue citizenship without returning to their country of origin?
Yes | Do you support the enforcement of federal immigration law by state and local police? |
Should the U.S use military force in order to prevent Iran from possessing a nuclear weapon?
